Quick experience vivo Y33s

Vivo’s mid-range smartphone product does not seem to have changed much in terms of appearance since the Y21 series, instead the company focuses on improving the user experience on the inside.

Quite unexpectedly after launching in Vietnam version Y21s in September, vivo continued to bring to Vietnamese users Y33s 3 months later. So what’s the difference between this mid-range phone or just an old bottle with a stamp?

Holding the vivo Y33s in my hand, a feeling of skepticism began to invade my mind. I wonder if this is vivo’s new phone, or is it a phone I’ve held before, or is it a Déjà vu? Its shape is almost the same as the previous version and I even think I will get lost in the maze if I put previous Y21 series versions on the same table as the Y33s.

To relieve that feeling of skepticism, I started reviewing photos of the previous version as well as Google more about the size parameters and… I was not wrong. The dimensions of both are identical, from 164.26 x 76.08 x 8mm and even the weight is 182g. So should it be said that both of these products are molded from the same mold? It’s also possible!

From the above reasons, I sincerely suggest that if you are a user of the Y21 series and want to upgrade to the Y33s just for the novelty from the looks, you will definitely be disappointed! However, if you are a user of the old series, or even a user of another brand, maybe this appearance will still make you happy. But, if it’s a user of the old series, or even a user of another brand, maybe this look will still make you happy.

Why do I say that as a new user switching to this Vivo Y series system will make you happy?

First of all, I have to admit that despite being an “old bottle”, this phone looks very eye-catching and neat, especially in this mid-range price range. While most other products opt for bezels and 4 strongly curved corners, the Vivo Y33s goes in a different design direction: a firmer flat press.

At this point you wonder if the more curved bezels make the machine less attractive. That may or may not be true. But in my opinion (but not including), a phone with a flat bevel looks stronger and more solid despite this, plus it has a very unique appeal. Look at the iPhone 2, 12 series and 13 series of recent years and see, they are all chamfered and flat, not curved as they were years later. So those who are keen on such lines can also see a transient silhouette on the Vivo Y33s.

In terms of color choice, Vivo’s fake glass back for the Y series this time around is extremely reasonable, as it enhances the youthful vibe and makes the product look more luxurious on the other hand. However, machines with shiny backs have one more drawback that has to be accepted: the tendency to stick to fingerprints.

The camera group is arranged in a square shape inherited from its X series design. If you look closely, you’ll notice that Vivo has carefully made the metal frame around the camera set slightly raised, in order to protect the glass of the camera set from getting scratched every time we put it on the table.

Overall, on the back of this Vivo Y33s has shown itself to be a machine for young people, sporty, eye-catching and sturdy. However, when I flipped to the front, I was a bit disappointed that Vivo kept the same old design here: the teardrop-shaped camera bezel.

But this “facade” feels strangely nostalgic

What’s hard to understand is that while users are currently used to the trend of perforated cameras to help make screen bezels thinner, the Vivo Y33s has chosen a somewhat …… nostalgic direction. To be honest, if you’re someone who’s looking for a slim bezel phone, the Y33s is probably not the first choice. I can confirm that this is Vivo’s downfall when compared to other competitors in the same space.

In return, the Y33s’ IPS panel’s Full HD+ screen still offers pretty good quality, especially since it’s bright enough for many different usage conditions. Also, the Y33s doesn’t have a 90Hz refresh rate like some others, but from a personal perspective, it’s hard to distinguish in that range unless one only switches to 120Hz or 144Hz. so you shouldn’t be self-deprecating when looking at other “neighbors” with 90Hz at this level.

Versatile camera with many interesting color filters

Ignoring the rather confusing screen, this phone scores in the photography section. So far, the camera has been a part of vivo’s focus, both on the high-end and low-cost versions, and the Y33s is no exception.

The vivo Y33s has a total of 3 rear cameras, with 1 main camera at 50MP and pretty good detail. With this large resolution, you can crop more comfortably without worrying about losing too much detail. Also, since the device does not have an optical zoom telephoto camera, cropping at 50 megapixels can save in many cases.

The other two cameras in this group include a 2-megapixel font delete and a 2-megapixel macro. During a quick experience, these secondary cameras only served as mild support, so you shouldn’t expect too much from it, and in return, the camera still meets many of our current photography needs.
